The Long Island Invasive Species Management Area

Volunteer Events

This page lists activities about invasive species that need volunteers for assistance. If you have an invasive species event that you would like to list here contact Joanne Klein at with the information that you would like to post.

We need your help to ensure that this year’s campaign is a success. Share our Call for Events at your organization's next meeting and consider offering an invasive species presentation, identification workshop, guided hike or paddle, or other type of event during this year’s ISAW. We encourage partnering with LIISMA to host, volunteer at, or attend an ISAW event Long Island. There are infinite ways to get involved!

Submit your event information to no later than June 14 to make sure it gets posted on the statewide calendar.  Put “NYISAW Event Submission” in the email subject line, and include the following information:

  • Event title
  • Event description, RSVP if needed, who to contact for more info, any other relevant information
  • Event date and start time/end time
  • Event location, address, including town/city and zip code
  • A PDF flyer if you have one – if not, no problem!

Be sure to let us know if you’ll need invasive species publications to share with participants at your events.
