Teatown Lake Reservation Seeks Invasive Plant Intern

Teatown Lake Reservation has a current employment opportunity for an intern to assist with the implementation of its Invasive Species Management Plan. Teatown is an environmental education center with a 1,000-acre preserve located in Westchester County, NY (www.teatown.org). The intern’s primary responsibilities will be mapping and managing known occurrences of invasive plants and conducting surveys for new infestations. Duties may also include planting native plants and assisting with various ongoing field research projects. This is a full-time (35 h/week) temporary position from May 25 – August 21 (start and end dates flexible). Must be able to lift heavy objects, operate a kayak, and work outdoors for long periods in a variety of weather conditions. The pay rate is $11.00/hour. Experience with ecological field research, GPS, and invasive plant identification and control strongly preferred.
